cuekiss

Interactive Romance

You're not reading the scene.
You're in it.

CueKiss turns a romance novel into a story you can walk into. You become a character in it, talk with the people who live there, and decide what happens next — while the book keeps remembering what you already did.

How it works

Four things happen every time you enter a story. None of them require you to have finished the book first.

01

You enter from where you are

The opening scene is built from your position in the story — the chapter you're on, what has already happened, and who is nearby. Start at chapter one, or step in halfway through.

02

The characters answer as themselves

Each character carries a card: who they are, how they speak, what they want from you. Replies stay in that voice, which is the difference between a character and a chatbot wearing a name.

03

The world supplies what matters

Places, factions, past events and the story's own vocabulary are held in a worldbook and pulled in only when a scene calls for them — so the world stays consistent without being recited at you.

04

You can take it back

Didn't like a reply? Reroll it and keep the version you prefer. Made a choice that changed the scene? The branch stays on record, so you can look back at the path you took.

What's inside

The interactive mode is built on four parts: character cards, a worldbook, a rolling summary, and rerolls. Everything below sits on top of those.

Character cards

Name, role, temperament, speech pattern, relationship to you, and sample dialogue. One book can carry several.

Multi-character scenes

More than one character can share a scene. Who speaks follows the situation, not a random draw.

Branching

Your choices can fork the scene. Branches you have taken remain viewable, so a path is never lost.

Rerolls

Any reply can be regenerated. You choose which version stays, and the discarded ones don't overwrite the story.

Long memory

A rolling summary keeps the thread across a long conversation. Leave and come back — the story continues instead of resetting.

Voice

Characters can speak their lines aloud, for scenes that read better heard than seen.

Free input

Type whatever you would actually say. You are not limited to picking from suggested options.

Reading stays reading

The interactive mode is separate from your reading progress. Playing a scene does not move your bookmark.

Questions

Short answers to what people ask before trying it.

Can I roleplay inside a romance novel?
Yes — that is the whole point. You enter a specific story as a character and talk with the people in it. Each story ships with character cards, so replies stay in that character's voice rather than reading like a generic assistant.
What app lets me become the main character of a book?
CueKiss is built for exactly that, though it runs in the browser rather than as a separate app you install. You are not spectating on the protagonist — you take their place in the scene.
Do I need to finish the book first?
No. You can step in from any chapter. The opening scene is assembled from where you are, so jumping in halfway is supported and does not spoil the mechanics.
Can more than one character be in a scene?
Yes. A story can carry several character cards and more than one can appear at once. The scene decides who speaks, which is what makes a group exchange feel like a room instead of a queue.
Does it remember what happened earlier?
Yes. A worldbook supplies places, factions and past events when they become relevant, and a rolling summary holds the thread across long conversations. Saved progress means you continue rather than restart.
Can I undo a reply?
You can reroll any reply and keep the version you want. Choices can branch the scene, and branches stay viewable afterwards.
Is it available now?
Not publicly. CueKiss is in private beta and opens in stages. There is no open free trial today — the waitlist on the home page is the only way in for now.
What kind of content is it?
Romance written for adults, with suggestive tension rather than explicit scenes. Registration requires confirming you are 18 or older.
